Group Leisure Awards 2010
Rules & Regulations / Terms & Conditions


1. The Year 2010 Group Leisure Industry Awards will run from January 2010 until 30th November 2010.

2. The Industry Awards presentation dinner will take place at a four or five star hotel in Birmingham on 23rd September, 2010.

21. Group Travel Organiser of the Year 2010

4. Yandell Publishing Ltd., the organiser of the Group Leisure Industry Awards will offer sponsorship opportunities to companies and organisations servicing the group travel industry at a price deemed to be fair and reasonable by the organisers. Companies or organisations are not allowed to sponsor an Award category for which they may potentially be nominated or voted for.

5. Payment for sponsorship will be due by 1st February, 2010 at the latest.

6. Sponsors of the Year 2010 Awards will get first refusal for sponsoring the same category again in 2010. The deadline for decisions for the Year 2010 Awards will be 29th September, 2010. After this date the category will be offered to the open market.

7. Voting forms for the Group Leisure Industry Awards 2010 will be circulated to the group travel market through Group Leisure magazine. Votes will also be accepted via the website at www.groupleisure.com

8. The final deadline for votes in relation to the Year 2010 Awards will be 6th June 2010

9. Winners and finalists of category awards will be informed by mid-July 2010 in writing on a Strictly Private & Confidential basis. The deadline for confirmation by the recipient of any category award that they are prepared to attend the Awards Dinner and collect the category award is 23rd July, 2010.

10. Should any category winner not be in a position to attend the Awards Dinner or fail to formally confirm that they will accept the Award by 23rd July 2010; the Publisher of Group Leisure has, at his absolute discretion, the right to rescind the Award and pass it on to the first runner-up / finalist in the category concerned. Information provided by Group Leisure magazine to award winners and finalists in advance of the awards dinner is strictly private and confidential and may not be divulged to any third party prior to the award being presented. Any breach of this confidentiality may result in the award being rescinded at the absolute discretion of the publisher.

    11. Sponsors will receive a free table for 8 persons at the awards dinner as part of their sponsorship package and must attend the dinner to present the award for the category sponsored. The sponsor accepts this obligation when contracting to sponsorship and accepts that in the event of non-attendance, no credit or refund will be made by Group Leisure magazine or Yandell Publishing Ltd., as a result of such non-attendance.

12. The organisers of the awards dinner reserve the absolute right to refuse admission to the dinner without explanation. Correspondence will not be entered into. Competitive media to Group Leisure Magazine or its portfolio of publications and media products are not permitted to attend the Awards dinner.

13. Winners of an Award will be requested in writing to supply material for Audio Visual production by 3rd August 2010. Failure to do so may result in the Award being rescinded at the absolute discretion to the Publisher.

14. The details of the category winners will not be announced until the Awards ceremony on the evening of 23rd September, 2010. The winners of the Awards are required to maintain the Private & Confidential status of the Awards until after the formal presentations.

15. An Awards brochure confirming the winners of the Year 2010 Awards will be published and circulated with the October 2010 edition of Group Leisure magazine. This magazine will also detail the sponsors of the 21 categories. Advertising opportunities will be made available to both winners (on a strictly private & confidential basis) and sponsors, or any business or organisations, who in the opinion of the publisher, is suitable for inclusion in this publication. All advertising bookings are subject to the normal terms and conditions of advertising bookings for Group Leisure magazine. A copy of these Terms & Conditions are available upon request and available to view at www.yandellmedia.com. A picture round-up of the Awards Dinner will appear in the November 2010 issue of Group Leisure magazine, although the publisher reserves the right to publish these pictures in any edition felt to be appropriate as an alternative.

16. Voting for the Year 2010 Group Leisure Industry Awards is not open to employees of Group Leisure Magazine or their families or to employees of Yandell Publishing Limited, or their families.

17. Voting can only be undertaken by bona-fide group travel organisers and coach operators. Voting opportunities will not be offered to trade businesses or organisations. Only one vote per person will be accepted.

18. If for any reason the publisher of Group Leisure magazine has reason to believe that any form of 'vote rigging' or manipulation of voting is being attempted, the publisher has the absolute right, at his discretion, to disqualify the votes in question.

19. Details of all votes and voters will be kept private & confidential and names and addresses of voters or how they voted will not be disclosed for any reason. The voting procedure is subject to the data protection act.

Group Travel Organiser of the Year® Award

20. The Group Travel Organiser of the Year® Award voting form will be published in Group Leisure magazine within the April and May 2010 editions. Nominations will also be accepted via the website at www.groupleisure.com. Trade suppliers can nominate candidates for this Award as well as GTO's and coach operators. The awards panel comprising experts from the travel industry will interview finalists during the month of July 2010 or as decided to be a convenient date. The first prize for the Year 2010 Award will be £1,500 for a familiarisation trip of the winner’s choice, subject to the agreement of the Publisher.

21. In the event of a tie, the casting vote will be with the chairman of the judging panel.

22. Dinner tickets are sold on a first come first served basis and are subject to availability. We regret that cancellations are subject to an administration fee of 30 per cent of the total cost and that refunds are not available should bookings be cancelled after 9th August 2010.

23. In relation to all rules and regulations covering the Year 2010 Awards and the Awards dinner, the publisher's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
